Successful Completion of a Webinar Titled “Study Textiles and Fashion in USA: Process and Prep for Admission and Graduate Assistantship”

It is our great pleasure to inform you that the Department of Textile Engineering successfully organized a webinar titled Study Textiles and Fashion in USA: Process and Prep for Admission and Graduate Assistantship on 20.02.21. Around 80 students participated in the webinar.

In the keynote speech Md. Rashaduzzaman, PhD in Fashion Merchandising, University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Assistant Professor (on leave), Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) elaborately shared the whole process timeline of applying for higher study from study preparation to visa processing from his own life experience. It was very much helpful for the students of the department.

Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) emphasized the importance of automation, modern innovation and intervention of IT in conventional industrial processes, including textile industry, for sustainable growth of the industry in his speech as chief guest. He highlighted that to achieve the goal, we will require more competent, research-oriented graduates in the textile sector. And in this regard, he mentioned the importance of higher study.

The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Distinguished Professor and Chairperson, Dept. of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh. He agreed with the Pro-Vice Chancellor about the importance of automation in the coming days. He further wished to create a culture of pursuing higher studies, especially in the top ranked universities of USA and Europe, among the students of the Department of Textile Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh.
