TEX FEST 2025

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of TEX FEST 2025, held on April 27–28, 2025. The event brought together academic leadership, industry experts, alumni, faculty, and students to celebrate knowledge, creativity, and community.

Day 1 Highlights – April 27, 2025

The day began with T-shirt distribution to all participants, setting a spirited tone for the event. The Inauguration Ceremony, held in front of Building A, was graced by all guests, with enthusiastic attendance from students and faculty alike. After the inauguration announcement by Prof. Dr. Md. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, GUB, a festive rally rounded the campus. This was followed by the Quiz Contest, where participants demonstrated sharp intellect and competitive spirit in the presence of Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, as a chief guest and Captain (Navy) S M Salahuddin. NGP, psc (Retd.), Registrar, Green University of Bangladesh, as special guest. The contest was chaired by Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, assistant professor of the Department of Textile Engineering.

At 11:30 AM, the Career Talk featured S. M. Asif Bin Asghor, Senior Merchandiser at PDS Fashion USA Ltd., who shared invaluable insights on industry trends and career opportunities. The session was chaired by Dr. Md. Shariful Alam, Associate Professor, Department of Textile Engineering, with guests including Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer, GUB, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean, Green Business School.

The afternoon session showcased the Innovative Idea Presentation, where students shared unique project concepts reflecting creativity and technical acumen. The panel included Prof.Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, as chief guest, Prof. Dr. M. Shahidullah, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, as special guest, and Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Distinguished Professor and Chairperson, Department of Textile Engineering, as session chair. The day concluded with energetic sports competitions among the students.

Day 2 Highlights – April 28, 2025

The second day commenced with the Alumni Open Forum, chaired by Dr. Jagannath Biswas, Associate Professor of the Department, providing a meaningful platform for alumni to share their experiences and advice with current students.

At 11:30 AM, a thought-provoking Panel Discussion took place featuring esteemed guests; Chief guest: Prof. Dr. Md. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, GUB, Special Guest: Prof Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor, GUB and chaired by Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Distinguished Professor and Chairperson of the Department. Distinguished panelists included:

• Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer, GUB

• Dr. Raashid Ashraf Khan, Director, Assurer World & Versatile Creation Ltd.

• Mr. Riyadh Zabir, Country Head, Etam (France)

• Mr. Julfikar Ali Simon, Deputy GM & HoD (Knitting & R&D), Ibrahim Knit Garments Pvt. Ltd.

Their discussions bridged academic learning with practical industry demands, offering rich takeaways for all attendees.

The grand finale began at 2:00 PM with the much-anticipated Raffle Draw and transitioned into a dazzling Prize Giving Ceremony, Cultural Show, and Fashion Contest. The hall was alive with color, music, and creativity as students showcased their talents and celebrated the spirit of the fest. This segment marked the perfect close to a successful two-day journey.
